Gabrielle Foster

Jumpstart Site Manager

Within her role, Gabrielle serves as a critical member of the NSP team that administers the day-to-day operations of the University of Chicago Jumpstart program. As Site Manager, Gabrielle works in conjunction with key campus personnel and Jumpstart’s staff to recruit, train, and support University student employees and volunteers working with preschool children from the Woodlawn community.

Prior to joining the Office of Civic Engagement, Gabrielle served as a Jumpstart Corp Member during her time as an undergraduate student. She went on to become an Assistant Teacher with the same program partner where she co-led a group of thirty 3-5 year old students. She has worked with youth in Chicago-based, nonprofit organizations such as Girl Scouts of America which focus on leadership development, academic achievement, and character building for young girls of all backgrounds across the Chicagoland area. As a native Chicagoan, Gabrielle is passionate about education access, community engagement, and meeting the various needs of diverse learners. Gabrielle earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
