Affordable and Effective 1:1 Tutoring for Local K-12 Students

Launched in 2016, Maroon Tutor Match (MTM) is a University student-led program within NSP that connects local families with UChicago students for personalized, one-on-one tutoring and academic support.

Through consistent tutoring relationships, MTM provides students with individualized academic support while building confidence, connection, and positive learning habits. During the 2025–2026 academic year, MTM provided personalized tutoring support to approximately 90 local families.

Interested in Maroon Tutor Match for the upcoming school year? Families are encouraged to complete our MTM Interest List to receive updates when applications open and learn more about upcoming tutoring opportunities.

Please note that completing the interest form does not guarantee a tutor match. Matches are made based on tutor availability, scheduling, grade level, subject area, and other program considerations.

Maroon Tutor Match Tutors provide about 5,000 hours of tutoring in a year. Join an organization where your impact will be multiplied across a student’s entire academic career. Our MTM tutors report forming meaningful relationships with community families and often say that the highlight of their time at UChicago was being able to guide a student through their journey of academic success. For the convenience of all parties involved, all tutoring takes place within the Hyde Park area and tutors decide their own working schedule.
