As Associate Director of the Neighborhood Schools Program, Mónica is responsible for University student recruitment, orientation, site placement, ongoing coaching and support, and management of the training and professional development series.

As Associate Director of the Neighborhood Schools Program, Mónica is responsible for University student recruitment, orientation, site placement, ongoing coaching and support, and management of the training and professional development series.

Immediately prior to joining the University, Mónica worked for the City of Chicago at the 20th Ward, taking on roles of increasing responsibility in the Alderman’s office, all while working with the full range of stakeholders addressing issues that affect communities across multiple neighborhoods.

Mónica earned her Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy and Economics from the University of Chicago in 2013. She was a first-generation college student and has a strong commitment to creating educational opportunities for youth, mentoring, and creating pathways to public service.
