Sylvia Camarillo

Sylvia is a native Texan with roots in the Houston suburbs. Being a first-generation college graduate has shaped her passion for creating opportunities and supporting students. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from St. Edward's University and a Master of Elementary Education from Relay Graduate School of Education.

Prior to joining the university, Sylvia spent two years teaching fourth grade with Teach For America and held operations and program management roles at Girls Inc. of Chicago and Momentum Education. Her experience will contribute to the smooth onboarding and processing of payroll for our student workers. Her work as an educator has remained one of the most rewarding parts of her career, and she looks forward to building meaningful relationships with students and helping them have a positive experience giving back to the community.
